Allured Business Media Extends Charity Garage Sale

Allured Business Media, located in Carol Stream, is extending their 2nd annual charity Garage Sale to benefit needy senior citizens in the community, on Friday September 13th. The garage sale will be held at:

After holding the event on September 6th and 7th, Allured raised $6,224.41 through the sale, less than $1300 away from their goal of $7,500. Allured has chosen to add an extra date to the sale, in order to fulfill this goal. All of the money that is raised through the garage sale will go to HSP’s Senior Citizen Project, which provides nutritious groceries to impoverished seniors living in the DuPage and Kane County area. Allured Business Media will match every dollar raised through the garage sale up to the $7,500 mark. Their goal is to raise enough money for a $15,000 endowment, which will provide a senior in the project with permanent sponsorship. For this bonus day of the garage sale, Allured will be taking all offers on everything remaining at the sale.

Publishing highly-regarded magazines and producing quality conferences and trade shows, Allured Business Media has been a global information leader in the cosmetic, spa and salon, and fragrance and flavor industries for more than 80 years. The company’s garage sale will support HSP’s mission to alleviate the pain and suffering poverty brings to children and the elderly living in DuPage and Kane County.

The 123 impoverished seniors enrolled in the Senior Citizen Project receive a monthly supply of groceries, which includes 8 fresh vegetables, 7 fresh fruits, 7 frozen meats, 3-4 loaves of Pepperidge Farm bread, non-perishables, and a monthly Secret Pal gift. In addition to their groceries, they receive a care package of personal items that includes shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, dental floss, lotion, soap and hand sanitizer every three months.
