The Wheaton Municipal Band celebrates diversity on July 24

The Wheaton Municipal Band teams up with The Wheaton Community Relations Commission to host a Wheaton World Tour event on Thursday, July 24  in Memorial Park in downtown Wheaton.  Maestro Dr. Bruce Moss returns to the podium at 8:00 p.m to conduct the world tour band concert but the fun begins at 6:00 p.m. with music, dance, song, poetry, arts and crafts and ethnic food from around the world.

This week the Band travels the world through music, starting at home with American Overture for Band by Jenkins.  Then it's off to Europe with Fucik’s Florentiner March, Suspiros de Espana by Alvarez and an excerpt from The Amersterdam Suite by Curtis.  Of course, more music follows that is sure to please every palate.  Latin grooves, Gypsy modes and Cajun syncopation will keep toes tapping.
