The Wheaton Municipal Band moves indoors to Edman Chapel on the Wheaton College Campus to present its final concert of the 2012 summer season on Saturday, August 11 at 8PM. The acoustics of the indoor setting will give the audience the opportunity to really hear the quality of the ensemble, minus the ambient sounds of locusts, trains, and traffic that occasionally color the Memorial Park soundscape when the band plays outdoors.

The program includes The Dam Busters March by Eric Coates (recently heard at Olympics opening ceremony during the Queen’s helicopter scene with James Bond), and The Maker's Mark, by Ryan Nowlin which was commissioned by the Wheaton Municipal Band for Dr. Bruce Moss’s 30th anniversary as director of the band and has since been published and added to contemporary band literature.

Joining the band on the program is world-class euphonium virtuoso Dr. Benjamin Pierce.   Pierce plays the velvety sounds of the euphonium like no other, and will amaze the audience with Concerto for Euphonium by David Gillingham and Napoli (Theme and Variations on Funiculi, Funicula) by Bellstadt.
