Springfield, Ill. – State Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) is the first-ever recipient of the Presidential Leadership Medal from the College of DuPage (COD). Dillard was presented the award at the College of DuPage annual foundation dinner on Sept. 19.

College of DuPage President Dr. Robert L. Breuder saluted Sen. Dillard for his long-time interest in higher education, and praised Dillard’s devotion to providing scholarship assistance to make higher education affordable to students.

“I was honored to receive this recognition. The College of DuPage is a wonderful institution that enriches our community and provides superior educational opportunities for more than 31,000 students every term,” said Dillard.

Dillard is a member of the College of DuPage’s foundation board, which is fifth in raising money for scholarships to attend the state’s second largest public university, located in Glen Ellyn. Recently, Dillard was instrumental in helping to secure $25 million of state funding for the replacement of original “temporary” buildings on the COD campus, which are more than 30-plus years old.
