Historic Home Commissioned by Co-Founder of Wheaton Hits Market [PHOTOS]

The 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is listed for $450,000.

A home commissioned by one of the co-founders of Wheaton, Jesse Wheaton, is currently on the market for $450,000, according to an e-mail from Henson Consulting.

The Prairie Square-style home was built in 1904 at 708 S. Wheaton, which is within walking distance from downtown Wheaton. It is listed with Coldwell Banker agent Linda Reilly.

The home features several architectural elements original to the home including box beam ceilings, a butler’s pantry and original woodwork, according to Henson Consulting agent Megan Reidy

"As a former history professor and long-time resident of this historic home, one of the current owners has lived here conscious of the historic value and worked to preserve the existing original elements," Reidy wrote in an e-mail.
