Downtown Wheaton Aveda Salon to Open in November

Manager at Glen Ellyn location says opening of the new Aveda salon in downtown Wheaton should be in November.

The under construction in downtown Wheaton should open in November, Jori Appleberry, manager of the owners' salon in Glen Ellyn, said.

The salon has been at 109 N. Main St.

Roy and Karen Millonzi, owners of Namaste salon in downtown Glen Ellyn, bought the City-owned property at 109 N. Main St. in Wheaton for $200,000 in February. The couple initially planned to open the salon and store this summer.

Roy Millonzi told City Council at a Nov. 7 meeting that Aveda identified downtown Wheaton as a desirable location for one of its Lifestyle salons, which incorporates retail sales and salon services. The Millonzis have owned Namasté salon in downtown Glen Ellyn for the past five years.

At an Oct. 11 Planning and Zoning Board meeting Aveda representative Sharon Nykaza told the board the Aveda salon would generate 45 to 65 percent of its revenue from the sale of Aveda products.

"We plan to use strong brand equity to draw customers to our salons... We have the most loyal customers," Nykaza said.
