Wheaton Hangs Thousands of New Holiday Lights

Workers with the city of Wheaton's public works department are in the process of installing more than 5,000 new holiday lights to hundreds of trees "as part of an annual project that takes months to complete," according to the Daily Herald.

The workers use cherry pickers to get in and around more than 100 trees, according to the article. The Daily Herald reports the lights will be flipped on for the first time this year during Wheaton's Lighted Holiday Parade at 6 p.m. on Nov. 29.

The annual lighted holiday parade will begin at City Hall, proceeding south on Wheaton Avenue to Front Street, and east on Front Street to its conclusion at Cross Street, according to the city of Wheaton website.
