Downtown Wheaton Streets To Close for Friday Parade

The 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. temporary closures are for the Dickens of a Christmas Parade.

The city plans to temporarily close several downtown streets from about 5:30 to 7:0 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, for the annual Dickens of a Christmas Lighted Holiday Parade, according to a release the Wheaton Police Department posted on the city’s website. The streets are:


  • North Wheaton Avenue between West Union Avenue and Front Street.

  • Front Street between North Wheaton Avenue and North Cross Street.

  • North Cross Street between Front Street and Wesley Street.


  • According to the release, uniformed police officers will staff these areas to assist and direct traffic.
