Wheaton Elks to Present $2,000 Check to Fire Department

Wheaton Elks Lodge 2258 will provide a $2,000 grant to the Fire Department during the July 21 Wheaton City Council meeting.

The Wheaton Elks received a $2,000 grant from the Elks National Foundation to be used within the local community. The Wheaton Elks decided to give the $2,000 in grant funds to the Wheaton Fire Department for the purpose of providing smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to those with financial need, as determined by the Fire Department.

Elks members Exalted Ruler Art Guitierrez, Leading Knight Andy Metanchuk, Treasurer Sonny Carson and Secretary Mike Pender will be at the City Council meeting for the check presentation on Monday, July 21, at 7:00 p.m.

The mission of the Elks National Foundation is to help Elks build stronger communities. We fulfill this pledge by investing in communities where Elks live and work. We provide tomorrow's leaders, our youth, with lifelong skills; honor the Elks pledge to never forget our veterans; help the state Elks associations accomplish their charitable objectives and fund projects that improve the quality of life in local Elks communities.
