Please join NAMI DuPage on September 24th for our 23rd annual Run for the Mind, 5K Run & 5K Walk located at the beautiful Danada Forest Preserve. The purpose of this event is to help increase awareness and reduce stigma about mental illness, while raising funds to maintain education and support programs for people with mental illness and their families.
Registration will open at 7:30 a.m with the Run/Walk beginning at 9 a.m. Runners and walkers alike can enjoy neck and back massages. Each participant will take home a sports string tote and t-shirt as well! The entrance to Danada can be found at 3S580 Naperville Rd. Wheaton, IL.
The National Anthem will be sung by the White Sox’s own Dan Cardea!

By joining us and raising pledges, you will be making a difference. The impact that mental illness can have on a person’s life can be devastating to the person, their families and employers. Mental Illness, a biological brain disorder, impacts one in four Americans. Last year NAMI DuPage touched the lives of over 12,000 DuPage residents. We hope to continue improving the quality of life of individuals with mental illness and their families. Now you have the chance to help too!
We encouraged you to starts teams by asking family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and anyone else that would be interested. This will be a fun way to spread awareness about mental illness while enjoying refreshments, entertainment and gaining educational materials on race day.

The 5K Walk is a perfect family friendly outing with pets and strollers allowed. For 5K Runners, race times will be recorded. Trophies will be awarded to the top running in the following categories: 14 & under, 15 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 – 69, and 70 & over.
This event is a CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association) certified race.

Day Prior Registration* – $25
* Prior Day registration will be at the Wheaton Town Square Starbucks from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Participant’s registration fees will be waived with $150 or more in pledges.
