Bowling and Raffle Fundraiser for Seizure Response Dog

A family-friendly bowling fundraiser with raffles and live music with No Money Down.

This event’s goal is to raise the final $10,000 for Paws With A Cause, which is placing a seizure service dog with Henry Walter, a local Wheaton North freshman. Proceeds from this event will benefit Henry and his total sponsorship goal of $30,000, which is the cost to train and place a seizure service dog.

In addition to bowling and pizza, there will be live music with classic rock band No Money Down, a visit with in-training assistance dogs at 2 p.m., a kid’s activity corner, a caricature artist, and raffle items ranging from Acapulco to local restaurants, to a woman’s Public brand comfort cruiser bike, to Bull’s tickets, to jewelry and much more.

PAWS is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs trained to deal with seizure disorders. PAWS also provides other types of service dogs to clients with disabilities.  A dog can be trained to (among other things) push life-alert buttons, help and/or comfort a person during a seizure and get help or retrieve the phone for the client.

Seizure Response Dog training takes about six to nine months at the PAWS national Headquarters in Wayland, Mich. PAWS trains Seizure Response Dogs for individuals 14 years of age or older. For more information about the
