Between Successes Career Ministry

The Between Successes Career Ministry will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, in the Hadley Chapel at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main Street in Wheaton. This joint ministry of Gary UMC and First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton offers spiritual support and practical guidance to those who are "between successes"--unemployed, underemployed and those who are contemplating a career transition.

The group features guest speakers, a spiritual message, networking and sharing of resources and ideas to help people who are looking for work.

"Our churches came together several years ago to offer this much-needed service to those who are in between jobs or thinking about a career move," said Angela Stephenson, co-facilitator of the group and a member of First Presbyterian. "We believe it's an important ministry and focus on spiritual support as well as connecting people to important resources and to each other."

"The structure of our group includes guest speakers who share their insights and wisdom, including those who have been through the group and who are now employed," added Vickie Austin, co-facilitator and a member of Gary UMC. "We emphasize this is a spiritual journey that people don't have to go through alone."

This monthly support group is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary.
