“SCOUTS, GET STICKY!” AT FULLERSBURG WOODS

"SCOUTS, GET STICKY!" AT FULLERSBURG WOODS

March is sweet at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center in Oak Brook, and Boy and Girl Scouts are invited to join a special event that’s all about maple syrup.
“Scouts, Get Sticky!,” Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will show Scouts how to make maple syrup from start to finish. They’ll learn about the parts of a tree and the importance of tree sap, hear who first discovered how to make syrup and much more. Children ages 5 – 17 are welcome to join, and all participants will receive a one-of-a-kind Fullersburg Woods maple syrup patch. The program meets some requirements of the Legacy Tree badge for Cadette Girl Scouts and the Forester badge for Cub Scouts.
“Scouts, Get Sticky!” costs $10 per child, and payment must be made in advance of the program. For more information or to register, call Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center, 3609 Spring Road in Oak Brook, at 630-850-8112.
Good things happen when you explore the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s 60 forest preserves and five education facilities. For information on ways to experience conservation, education and recreation in your neck of the woods, call 630-933-7200 or visit dupageforest.org.
