Find Unique Gifts at Mayslake Holiday Market

Holiday Market at Mayslake Peabody Estate

Complete your holiday shopping while supporting talented artisans during the annual holiday market at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook on Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Shop 15 vendors offering an assortment of jewelry and accessories, tableware, teas, gourmet oils and vinegars, decorative home goods, books and more. Then, enjoy a gallery-style showing of original works for sale by local members of the Alliance of Fine Art. You can also purchase tickets for a raffle for a fabulous collection of wine. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five tickets, and proceeds support First Folio Theatre, Mayslake’s resident theatrical troupe, and the Mayslake Hall Restoration Society. Admission to the market is free.

Mayslake Hall was built between 1919 and 1921 by Francis Stuyvesant Peabody, a national figure in the coal industry. Later in the century, the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor used the estate as a center for religious growth. Today, it is on the National Register of Historic Places and stands as a unique cultural resource for the community offering special events, classes, art exhibits and tours.
