DISTRICT TO INTRODUCE OAK MEADOWS GOLF PRESERVE MASTER PLAN AT OPEN HOUSE

Oak Meadows Golf Course Master Plan Unveiled

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will host a public open house on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Maple Meadows Golf Course in Wood Dale from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to present its proposed conceptual master plan for Oak Meadows Golf Preserve in Addison.
The open house will feature a presentation at 6:45 p.m. highlighting current site conditions, the goals of the master-planning process and preliminary plans for improvements within the 288-acre Oak Meadows Golf Preserve. In addition to creating a great public golf experience, the plan seeks to enhance the property by increasing stormwater-management capabilities, expanding wetlands, improving Salt Creek’s water quality, creating habitat for native wildlife, and integrating the preserve with adjacent open spaces and trail systems. After the presentation, District staff and golf course architect Greg Martin will answer questions from attendees.
On Oct. 10, the District will also post information about the master plan at dupageforest.org under “District News” and “Plans and Projects,” where people will be able to submit comments through Nov. 2.
For more information on the open house, call the District’s Office of Planning at 630-871-6404.
For information on ways to experience more conservation-, education- and recreation-related activities throughout DuPage County’s forest preserves, call 630-933-7200 or visit dupageforest.org.
