BREAD-BAKING CLASS AT KLINE CREEK FARM
Bread-Baking Class Offered at Kline Creek Farm
Learn old-fashioned baking techniques to make homemade bread during “Bread-Baking Class” March 16 at Kline Creek Farm, the District’s 1890s living-history farm in West Chicago. Sessions are available 10 – 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Participants in this hands-on class will gather in the historic farmhouse’s kitchen to learn the foundations of baking bread. They’ll make two kinds of bread from scratch, savory biscuits and soft dinner rolls, in the wood-burning stove and receive recipes for modern kitchens as well as a fresh pan of rolls to bake at home.
“Bread-Baking Class” costs $25 per person. It is open to ages 10 and older, and those under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. For information or to register, call the farm at 630-876-5900.
