Worlds of Billy Graham Conference - Opening session



Dr. Grant Wacker, professor of Christian history at Duke Divinity School,
is delivering the opening session of "The Worlds of Billy Graham" Conference.


Dr. Wacker's talk, titled "Billy Graham and American History," will be
followed by a presentation of the 1953 Worldwide Pictures film Oiltown
U.S.A. with comments by Dr. Darren Dochuk and Dr. William Romanowski.


Dr. Dochuk is associate professor in the humanities at Washington University
in St. Louis and author of From The Bible Belt to Sunbelt (W. W. Norton
Company, 2012) and Dr. Romanowski is professor of communication arts and
sciences at Calvin College and author of Reforming Hollywood (Oxford
University Press, 2012).

This opening session of the "Worlds of Billy Graham" conference, sponsored by
the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals (ISAE) at Wheaton College,
will be held in Barrows Auditorium of the Billy Graham Center. The opening session is free and open to the public.
