GIRL SCOUT CHEMISTRY DAY:  A SUCCESSFUL STEM WORKSHOP
Join us to hear about this successful STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program.  Branch member Fran Kravitz was instrumental in developing the Marie S. Curie Girl Scout Chemistry Day workshop, sponsored by the Chicago Section of the American Chemical Society and annually offered locally at North Central College.  Over 250 girls have benefited from this one day program in the last three years.  Fran is currently an American Chemical Society (ACS) Career Consultant and Career Workshop.

Ms Kravitz will discuss the success of the Girl Scout Chemistry Day workshop and her plans to add a new program in 2014.  Fran also developed the Boy Scouts of America Chemistry Merit Badge course in which over 870 scouts in the last nine years have received their chemistry merit badge.
