Oktoberfest at Arrowhead

From September 21 through October 6
guests can enjoy a special menu of Chef Alan Pirhofer’s favorite German recipes
and unique beers at Arrowhead Restaurant and Bar, featuring

Munich style potato pancakes, known for their crispy exterior and
melt-in-you-mouth interior. Homemade spätzle and sauerkraut side dishes will
accompany a selection of “wurst,” or sausages, as well as the mythic
“schweinsaxe,” which Pirhofer translates at “ginormous pork shank.” Pirhofer is
also introducing a new dish this year: Jaeger Hunher Schnitzel, which is a breaded
chicken cutlet with wild mushroom-bacon sauce, homemade spätzle, and braised
red cabbage.

The festival begins with a traditional
element of Oktoberfest: a firkin, which is a small keg of craft beer tapped
with a special hammer. The firkin will be filled with Oktoberface beer by
Solemn Oath Brewery in Naperville. Additionally, on Saturday, September 21, the
restaurant will offer half-price German pretzels with an assortment of dipping
sauces.
