Lusty Month of May

“It’s May. It’s May. The lusty month of May.” – these are words from the songs of Camelot. In ancient times, the entire month of Maya, or Maia, was a celebration of the Virgin Goddess of Spring. The Earth Mother began showing herself in the greening of life. In the Celtic traditions, May 1 is the festival of Beltaine. It is Mary’s month–she is the Holy Rose of May.This evening, we will remember the“May” stories and rituals of our cultures and explore some of the inner graces that lust for life within ourselves:creativity, passion and dancing energy.
