League of Women Voters of Wheaton program - Affordable Care Act's 4th Birthday - Hits & Misses

The Patient Protection and Affordable
Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010. To commemorate the
4th birthday of this law, the League of Women Voters of Wheaton
will present a program about the ACA; looking back where it has been,
where it is today, and where it is going forward, growing pains and all.

Jillian Phillips, the Chicagoland
Organizer from the Illinois Campaign for Better Healthcare, will discuss
how the ACA will affect citizens’ health care access and the changes in store
for insurance companies, doctors, hospitals and business owners. She also will
speak about “Get Covered Illinois,” the state’s new marketplace for health
insurance. The Campaign for Better Health Care is a coalition of organizations
and individuals, working to help create and advocate for an accessible, quality
health care system that provides for all. The presentation will hopefully make
some of the fine print clearer.

Join the League of Women Voters of
Wheaton on March 20, 2014 at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, 1777
S. Blanchard, Wheaton to learn more about the ACA. There will be a meet and
greet at 7:00 PM, and the program starts at 7:30. It is free and open to the
public.
