Timed to correspond with a Picasso special exhibition scheduled to open in Chicago in early 2013, this lecture looks at the artist’s career-long pursuit of artistic innovation. From his arrival in Paris as a young artist, Picasso assimilated the styles of artists and periods that intrigued him in pursuit of establishing his own personal style. Art historian and professor Jeff Mishur presents this look at Picasso’s stylistic diversity through a series of masterworks spanning several decades of the twentieth century.
