Kathryn Harris, Library Services Director at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, performs as Harriet Tubman, a slave who eventually won her own freedom and helped more than 300 slaves escape to the North, in this inspiring program suitable for families of all ages. Joining Harris is Wheaton’s own Underground Railroad expert, Glennette Tilley Turner, the author of The Underground Railroad in Illinois and several other books on the topic. Turner gives listeners further insight into the Underground Railroad, especially its operations in Illinois and Wheaton.
