Always fun to see longtime favorites grow and change things up. Iowa Artisans Gallery presents Celebrate! A Grand Re-Opening, showcasing remodeling changes made after the retirement of long-time co-owner and co-tenant Don Rinner. Rinner’s business, DJ Rinner Goldsmith, occupied one quarter of the square footage in Iowa Artisans Gallery’s space in the historic Paul-Helen Building, downtown Iowa City. The Gallery has expanded and now includes his former space. The Gallery will have a party/opening reception during the Iowa City downtown Gallery Walk, March 1, 5-8pm. This event is free, self-guided and open to the public. Maps and refreshments are available at each of the 14 participating venues.
Established in 1984, Iowa Artisans Gallery focuses on contemporary American Craft and selected works for the wall. Media include ceramics, wood, furniture, glass, metal & jewelry, fiber art and accessories, as well as paintings, original prints and photography. The Gallery represents about 200 artists from the United States and a few Canadians. It specializes in work by Midwestern artists. The remodeling allows the gallery to expand its focus on The Artful Home theme as well as on unusual handmade jewelry in all price points. In addition, the Gallery carries Iowa-made art, as well as gifts and custom orders.
