7th Annual Music in the Park
The 7th Annual "Music in the Park" featuring acoustic musicians from around the country will be held at the Memorial Park bandshell this Friday, July 25th, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
The concert was created through the Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission and features performances by three acoustic acts playing various styles of music. The concert is free and open to the public.
Artists include:
- Red Tail Ring, a New Time Roots with Old Time Sounds, haunting harmonies and instrumental artistry on fiddle, banjo, mandolin and jew harp.
- Friedlander & Hall, eclectic mix of bluegrass, swing, classical, ragtime and progressive rock played with exceptional guitar skill and mastery
- Lisa DeRosia, vintage country-inspired melodies, lonely love-struck lyrics, sung with a soothing hushed twang and a dash of Beatles-esque pop melancholy
Sponsors include First Trust Portfolios, the Folk-Lore Center, Budd Smith of Farmer's Insurance and the Burning Bush Gallery. This event is supported by the City of Wheaton, the Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission and the Wheaton Park District.
