District 200 to Host Second Community Engagement Session
All Members of the Community are Encouraged to Attend
In January, District 200 launched an extensive community engagement program – Engage200. Through a series of community workshops, District 200 will gather data and input to identify community priorities to guide planning for the future of the District. ALL members of the community are invited and encouraged to participate in this engagement process.
While supported by the Board of Education, the program is citizen-led and will have extensive citizen participation. It is vitally important for all members of the community to attend. Only with diverse and informed voices can we develop an effective plan for our District.

During this second session on Wednesday, February 19 (7:00 – 9:00 p.m.) at Monroe Middle School, 1855 Manchester Road, Wheaton, the topic featured will be Student Achievement. The session will begin with a brief presentation by Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services, Faith Dahlquist, that provides key information about student achievement in District 200. Participants will then work in small groups to discuss and reach consensus on responses to a short work activity. Each group will then share its conclusions with everyone in attendance. Input received will be documented and available for review on the District website.
Why talk about student achievement? During the first Engage 200 session, participants overwhelmingly provided feedback that they wanted to learn more about our current student achievement, how District 200 compares to other local, benchmark districts, and more. Specifically, the purposes of the student achievement discussion is to further explain the State of the District in regards to student achievement; explain our current state of resources dedicated to student achievement; describe our current efforts to improve student achievement; and get feedback from the community that prioritizes possible, future improvement efforts.
