Prosecutors provide details of the charges against Donald Ratcliff, 60, who admitted to downloading child pornography due to curiosity. Ratcliff's bail was reduced from $750,000 to $300,000 in court Thursday. He will appear for arraignment March 26.

6th Congressional District Candidates Sound off at Forum

Democratic Congressional candidates Leslie Coolidge and Geoffrey Petzel and independent candidate Khizar Jafri fielded questions from the audience Thursday night regarding health care, taxes and term limits.

Patrick O'Shea's campaign organizers hope voters focus on his race for Circuit Court Judge rather than his son's drug arrest. Collin O'Shea, 18, faces charges for allegedly selling narcotics, officials say. He was arrested in Lombard March 1, and posted 10 percent of the $75,000 bond Monday morning.

A 22-year-old Wheaton man accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl in September requested a bail reduction. Chet Magar and two other men are charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault in connection to a September incident in a Wheaton apartment, prosecutors say.

The man accused of breaking into an off-duty police officer's home in Wheaton plans to claim self-defense in his trial. The officer shot Kerin Ramirez in the stomach during a Sept. 24 altercation after Ramirez broke into his home.
