Walter Schleicher of Wheaton died Wednesday, Feb. 9. He was 88.
He was born May 5, 1923 in Newark, NJ.
He served in World War Two in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He graduated from the Newark College of Engineering with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked with AT&T Bell Labaratories in New Jersey and in Naperville.

He is survived by his wife, Elvira; a son, Robert; two daughters, Linda and Kathy; four grandchildren, Kristin, Craig, Jeffrey and Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Edna; and his parents, Walter and Louise.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 18 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheaton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Remembrance Fund.
