Veterans Foundation to Host Honor Flight Fundraiser Saturday

DuPage Veterans Foundation to host Honor Flight Fundraiser to help pay for a flight for a World War Two vet to fly to D.C.

The DuPage Veterans Foundation will host the second annual Honor Flight Fundraiser on Saturday, May 4, to raise money to pay for a flight of World War II veterans to travel to Washington, DC.

The fundraiser will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the DuPage Airport in the Calamos Hangar, 2700 International Drive, West Chicago.

The event will include lunch, era music, World War II and Korean War planes and vehicles in addition to a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit Honor Flight Chicago. Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door. All World War II and Korean War veterans in addition to active duty military are free with identification. 

The DuPage Veterans Foundation was organized two years ago to assist local World War II veterans to travel to Washington, DC. The foundation’s first fundraiser honored more than 100 local World War II heroes and raised $55,012 for Honor Flight Chicago. Since 2008, Honor Flight Chicago has flown 3,900 veterans to view their war memorials.
