Spinach Recalled After E. Coli Scare

Taylor Farms Retail Inc. recalls spinach in 39 states after possible E. Coli contamination.

Taylor Farms Retail Inc. has issued a recall on spinach marked "Best by" Feb. 24 in 39 states, including Illinois, the company announced on its website

The company initiated the voluntary recall last week due to possible Enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC, E. Coli) contamination. There have been no reported illnesses from the product, according to the company's website.

The company is cooperating with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regarding the recall.

Symptoms of the diseases caused by E. Coli include abdominal cramps and diarrhea that may in some cases progress to bloody diarrhea. Fever and vomiting may also occur,
