Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect in Wheaton

The National Weather Service's warning is in effect until 11:45 a.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Illinois, including DuPage County, until 11:45 a.m. Friday. 

At 10:43 a.m. Friday, "doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph," the NWS warning reads. 

Lightning and heavy rain are also expected. The NWS warning advises residents to go to the lowest floor of their home or business.
