Reward in Search for Megan Boken's Killer Now $30,000

Anonymous donors and the Washington University School of Medicine have each contributed $10,000 to triple the reward for information in the fatal shooting of Megan Boken, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday. CrimeStoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000.

St. Louis Police detectives believe Megan Boken struggled with her killer and was shot to death in a random attempted robbery. Police Chief Dan Isom said Monday "" have emerged.

"We're really here to make a public appeal and ask for more information," Police Chief Dan Isom told reporters Monday afternoon. He said there is no evidence she knew her killer.

Boken was in St. Louis to play in an alumni volleyball game at her alma mater, St. Louis University.

Reports the St. Louis Post Dispatch:

A friend and former SLU teammate, Sarah Entzeroth, 25, said Boken was in St. Louis for the SLU alumni game and to interview for jobs here. Entzeroth said Boken was shot shortly after they returned from walking Entzeroth's dog in Forest Park ... .

"I hate that there's even still a suggestion that she might have known this person because she didn't," she said. "We don't hang out with anyone that does drugs or has guns or that kills people. It was a random attack by a bad person who didn't know Megan. It's madness."

After graduation, Boken returned to the Chicago area, working as a financial advisor at Edward Jones in Wheaton from September 2011 until June, according to her LinkedIn profile.
