Lane Reductions to Increase Delays at Butterfield, Naperville Roads in Wheaton

Crews will begin work to switch traffic on Naperville Road Thursday morning in the Butterfield Road Reconstruction Project.

The contractor for the Butterfield Road Reconstruction Project will begin preparations tomorrow morning to switch traffic on Naperville Road. The work will include lane reductions, leading to delays for morning commuters, according to a message from the City of Wheaton.

An electronic message board was installed to inform motorists of the delays.

Work along Orchard Road has resumed. It should be open by mid-September, according to the message. Orchard closed of about two weeks.

For current traffic updates, check Patch's Commute page.

This crew is completely worthless. I have never seen workers move any slower. How do two week projects turn into two months. The intersection by WWS is yet to be done. They had all summer and wait until school starts to tackle that project. This company is completely worthless.

You can't believe a word they say. This should have been done by now.

This whole project has been miss-handled from the beginning!!! It is apparent that there must be politics involved and ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN FOR THE INCONVENIENCES CAUSED TO THE TAX PAYING CITIZENS WHO MUST USE THIS ROAD. I have NEVER seen a road torn up for miles and miles and miles and then what must be a crew of 10 or12 try to put it back together again in small sections -- NEVER REALLY COMPLETING ANY OF THEM!!! I wish someone would come forward from whatever board approved this mess and put a stop to it!!!! Maybe if ANY OF THEM ever had to drive thru this mess on a daily basis something would happen. I would like to see a schedule of when this mess will be completed!!! I'm not going to hold my breath though because it appears like it may be sometime in 2015 the way it is going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
