Jackpot! Carol Stream Friends Win $7.4 Million in Lotto

The friends have known each other for eight years; their April 29 joint Quick Pick ticket bought at Carol Stream's Payless Tobacco hit all six numbers to claim the jackpot.

A Carol Stream couple has won a whopping $7.4 million jackpot in the Illinois Lottery after their April 29 Quick Pick Lotto ticket hit on all six numbers: 04-05-07-12-31-45, a ticket purchased at Carol Stream's Payless Tobacco.

Carol Davis and Conrad Rask met eight years ago at an area restaurant where she was a manager and he a regular patron, and the two for years have bonded over playing the lottery, according to an Illinois Lottery press release.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes!” said Rask, a retired electrician, in the release. “I called Carol right away and told her we just won $7.4 million!”

“Conrad suggested we start playing Lotto together... He really believed that one day we would win big, and we did!" Davis exulted in the release.

Rask said he will share his winnings with family and invest; Davis said the same, adding that she will also likely get a new car.
