Cross Street Closed Near Tracks Beginning May 14

As part of the City’s annual road construction program, contracted crews will be reconstructing Cross Street from Willow Avenue to the railroad tracks in downtown Wheaton. This work will require some traffic rerouting and road closures during construction.

The contractor anticipates work will begin during the week of May 14. Flaggers will direct traffic around construction.

However, this work will require the contractor to close Cross Street from Willow Avenue north to the railroad tracks starting approximately the week of May 21. Traffic will be detoured around the closure. Motorists will be able to access Municipal Parking Lot 3 and Northern Trust Bank. During this closure, access to the Willow Avenue Parking Garage will be limited to the Willow Avenue entrance.

This work is expected to take a few weeks to complete. The City appreciates your patience while construction work is being completed.
