Is $1 Million For Retirement Enough?

In my Chicagoland blog posts, I always try to write original content.  Sometimes my oldest friends who know me best ask “Did you really write that last one all by yourself?”.  “ Yes, I really did”, I say.  But I don’t think that I can write a better retirement planning article than Jeff Sommer recently wrote in the New York Times.

I think that this article is very much worth the reading time of any reader who is concerned about the financial uncertainty of their retirement.  A link to the article, “For Retirees, a Million-Dollar Illusion” can be found:

I read a lot of business, financial, and investment advice articles ever month.  It is extremely difficult to get my attention and for me to learn something that I can apply to my client relationships.  Well, this article got my attention.   It taught me something that I will help my clients more clearly understand.

Retirement obstacles for Chicagoland families are very scary and very real.  The financial, investment and economic numbers in this article are very similar to those I hear about from my clients every day.  If you read any information in this article that you would like explained to fit your own retirement plan circumstances, just give me a call.  630-233-6060.  I will respond to your question and find you the best resource as soon as I can.
