Dates Announced for Targeted Safety Initiatives in West Chicago

The West Chicago Police Department Traffic Safety Unit announces several high-visibility enforcement initiatives in the coming months. In addition to the Click It or Ticket and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation, officers will be out at specific locations on specific dates, attempting to increase safety on local roadways.

Officers will be checking for Child Safety Seat and occupant restraint compliance, DUI drivers, excessive speed, aggressive and distracted driving.

“Frequent high-visibility and safety-targeted patrols can reduce traffic accidents, including those involving injuries and death each year,” said Traffic Safety Unit Sergeant Spencer Kroning.
