Wheaton Lawyer Authors Article in Illinois Bar Journal

Kaitlyn Anne Wild, an associate with Rathje & Woodward, LLC, in Wheaton, is the author of “Plaintiffs’ Secret Weapon: The Illinois Respondent in Discovery Statute,” an article which appears in the January 2014 issue of the Illinois Bar Journal, the monthly magazine of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).

In the article, the author explains the Respondent in Discovery statute which enables plaintiffs – but not defendants – to take discovery from a non-party respondent and gives plaintiffs a six-month “grace period” from otherwise applicable statues of limitations.

The 32,000-member ISBA (isba.org), with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to Illinois lawyers, and education and services to the public through a website (illinoislawyerfinder.com), consumer brochures, and distribution of legal information.
