Popular New Jersey Fitness Chain Opens its First Chicagoland Location

Retro Fitness, a low-cost, high-value concept that gives members an unbelievable, high-energy workout experience, is heading into the Midwest by opening its first Illinois gym just outside of Chicago in Carol Stream, located at 608 E. North Ave.

 

The Carol Stream location is the first of upwards of 55 gyms the company plans on opening throughout the Chicagoland area within the next 3-5 years. Already, Carol Stream Retro Fitness Owner Charles Cui plans on opening two additional locations in the next 18 months.

“Making health conscious decisions is not a trend that is going away. Our society is increasingly aware of the importance of physical fitness and nutrition, so the need for low-cost gyms like Retro Fitness will only continue to grow,” said Cui, commenting on his decision to become a Retro Fitness franchisee. He added, “Retro Fitness helps the community achieve their health and fitness goals at a fraction of the cost, without skimping out on the necessities for a good workout.”

Retro Fitness of Carol Stream will feature a 10,500 square-foot facility with a 1,000 square-foot mezzanine. The facility blends vibrant color schemes into a fun, energetic atmosphere where gym members can comfortably meet their fitness goals. The location will offer a full collection of top-of-the line strength equipment and cardio machines from industry leaders complete with individual LCD television monitors.

                            

Adding to the excitement, the Retro Fitness of Carol Stream will offer a variety of live classes, including spin, Zumba, group fitness classes and circuit training, among other options. Members can also work up a sweat in the popular cardio movie theater that houses cardio equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals and recumbent bikes, all arranged in a stadium-like theater setting, and plays movies on a gigantic screen throughout the day. In addition, members can enjoy personal training, virtual fitness classes, full-service locker rooms, child sitting, the latest in tanning technology, massages, a full-service pro-shop and a RetroBlends smoothie bar, all within an exciting and energetic social atmosphere.

 

Retro Fitness also offers members a free mobile app that is intended to be a true workout companion to help keep members motivated and on track with reaching their goals. The constantly evolving app even allows members to order a smoothie from the Retro Blends smoothie bar and schedule personal training appointments.

 

“It’s not only about providing members a facility to help them reach their fitness goals, but creating an environment for every member, no matter their fitness level, to achieve success,” added Cui. “Members can change their life for less than 75 cents a day—you can’t beat that price with our amenities.”

 

Retro Fitness Carol Stream will be open Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
