Aspiring Speakers Invited to Attend Speakers Academy

Aspiring speakers interested in developing their skills to build or boost their speaking business are invited to register for the National Speakers Association of Illinois Speakers Academy which will be held twice a month during January through March 2014 at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Wheaton.

Classes will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays on January 9 and 23, February 13 and 27 and March 13 and 27 at IIT's Rice Campus, 201 E. Loop Road, Wheaton, IL. The program includes a 10-chapter workbook developed by speakers academy chapters throughout the National Speakers Association network. In addition to classroom work and exercises, guest speakers from the NSA-IL chapter will share their own stories about professional speaking and provide insights on how to launch and maintain a successful speaking career.

"We're excited about launching another Speakers Academy to help those who want to create, build or enhance their businesses as professional speakers," said Vickie Austin, one of the "deans" of Speakers Academy. "Between the robust curriculum and the stories shared by our guest speakers, participants will learn all about the science--and the art--of speaking." Ms. Austin, a business and career coach, and Conor Cunneen, prolific author and speaker, will lead the Speakers Academy which includes topic development, sales and marketing, authorship and product development platform mechanics and managing a speaking business.

Tuition for the program is $795 which covers the six four-hour classes and the workbook. Those who have taken previous NSA-IL speaker training programs can review for a reduced fee. For more information, visit www.nsa-il.org/speakers-academy-wheaton or call Glenda Sharp at 847-991-0772.
