Wheaton's DuPage Medical Group Facility 'Will Be Unique for the Area'

The facility, currently conspicuously under construction, is expected to open in the spring of 2014.

The DuPage Medical Group building—that under-construction shell at Main and Willow in downtown Wheaton, where Jewel-Osco used to be—aims to be a three-story, 40,000-square-foot “one-stop shop” for patients when opening in the spring of 2014, the Daily Herald reports

According to the paper, the site hopes to open with 25 various physicians—primary care, obstetrics, gynecology and more—with more to come as they move from the current location at 1800 N. Main St.

"We believe the building will be unique for the area, housing primary care physicians and key ancillary medical services under one roof providing convenience for our patients," group spokeswoman Maria McGowan told the paper. “Our doctors and staff could not be more excited about this new building and what it will represent to the community."

"This will bode very well for our downtown and our planners are excited," Wheaton mayor Michael Gresk added to the paper. "Ideally it's dozens of new doctors and patients shopping and eating downtown who may have otherwise spent their dollars elsewhere."
