Wheaton Yoga Studio Launches Food Drive

Food to benefit Humanitarian Service Project, an organization supporting families living in poverty in DuPage and Kane counties.

A new Yoga studio in Wheaton is taking its community spirit seriously and launching a food drive to benefit Humanitarian Service Project, an organization supporting needy seniors, children and their families living in poverty in DuPage and Kane Counties.

Yoga by Degrees, located at Rice Lake Square in Wheaton, is seeking donations of canned meats, beef stew, chili, peanut butter and jelly, pancake mix, syrup, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, sauce, condiments, coffee, crackers and boxed potatoes. Items can be left inder the Christmas tree at the studio. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 31.

"We feel strongly that this is a great way to connect with the community while practicing ‘Karma Yoga' or the discipline of action,” said Danielle Dickinson, yoga teacher and studio manager. "It helps us build community and camaraderie among our students and the greater community. And that positive sense of peace and satisfaction is what we seek to achieve here every day.”
