Wheaton Getting New French-Style Bakery in November

Taiwanese immigrant Hao Chang hopes to open Pample Mousse Bakery before Thanksgiving in the City downtown.

The City of Wheaton will have a new business by the end of this year as a Taiwanese immigrant and massage therapist will open a French-inspired bakery on Main Street, the Suburban Life reports.

According to the paper, after exclusively performing massages for years, Hao Chang will go pro with her baking hobby and hopes to open PampleMousse Bakery at 118 N. Main St. by Thanksgiving; she will offer a “melting pot” of baked goods, including cakes, éclairs, croissants and breads, based on the French emphasis on perfection and precise measurements.

"It amazes me how much French people care about their bakery stuff," Chang told the paper. "Not just how it looks, but how it tastes, too… It inspires me to do as good as I can and put the best ingredients in there.

Paula Barrington of the Downtown Wheaton Association added to the paper that such a bakery would be good for other Wheaton businesses, too: "At most bakeries, people have favorite items that you must have every week, and having one in downtown will help generate more foot traffic.”
