Patch Picks: 5 Great Local Boutiques

It's almost Spring. You're ready to trade in the wool for some springy florals and strappy shoes. Here are a few local boutiques that sell them.

This week's Patch Picks: 5 Local Boutiques

Half of the merchandise is denim, the other half: tops. With the slogan, "It's what you're wearing tonight," Jeans & A Cute Top Shop is where some women might go during the day before a night out on the town, to find some jeans and a cute top that they've never publicly debuted. The shop is currently having its "Great Wall of Denim Sale," at both of its locations in Wheaton and St. Charles.

With its grand opening Saturday, Feb. 26, Swap Shop sells gently used, designer women's clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry and accessories with the idea that "More clothes in your closet, more money in your wallet." Shoppers who go for the grand opening could win a $100 gift certificate.

In its new location off Main Street, It's Our Earth sells recycled odds and ends including local artists' work, salad bowls made out of old records and purses made from seat belts.

With free wine tastings everyday, Tasting deVine brings wines from all over the world to its Front Street storefront. Through the end of the month, buying a bottle of Ice Wine will get patrons 50 percent off a second bottle.

5. M and Em's Children's Boutique, 460 N Main St, Glen Ellyn

M and Em's sells unique, eclectic children's gifts and collectibles, and just got a truck load of bags and other spring merchandise, including children's ballet flaps and spring apparel. M and Em's is also hosting "Cupcake Camp" Saturday, Feb. 26, where children will design their own cupcake T-shirt.

Those sound great, thanks Charlotte! I'm very interested to check out It's Our Earth (is it in GE or Wheaton, though?) and I've already heard great things about Jeans and a Cute Top Shop.

It's Our Earth is in Wheaton. Click on the name and it's a live link to the information page. It is a very cool store.
