Loretto Early Childhood Center Closing After 6 Decades

The Catholic preschool will close at the end of this school year.

Wheaton's Loretto Early Childhood Center is closing after 60 years this May, according to the Chicago Tribune, due to dropping enrollment since 2005.

The Catholic preschool is run by the nuns of the Loretto Convent, who told the Tribune that they are open to selling their 15-acre campus.

Loretto will hold an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18, on the school grounds as an opportunity for past and present teachers and students to reconnect, according to its website. RSVP to lorettoecc@hotmail.com.
