College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn Chamber Discuss Future of Jazz Fest

The two are co-hosts of the 5-year-old event.

The future of Glen Ellyn's annual Jazz Fest, which has presented Brazilian musicians, internationally known vocalists and master guitarists among its wide-ranging talent, is unknown. The fest's co-hosts are currently discussing the future of the summer concert event.

Although no decisions have been made, the (COD) and Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce are talking about the annual event that draws many people to Glen Ellyn for live music, beer and wine.

In previous years, the two worked together to create the event, welcoming music lovers to a "musical oasis" in the middle of downtown Glen Ellyn. The pairing seemed to work, using the expertise of WDCB, Chicago's Radio Jazz Station, and the McAninch Arts Center, both based at the college.

Joseph Moore, COD’s vice president of external relations, and Georgia Koch, executive director of the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce, confirmed that discussions are ongoing. It's unclear who will headline the July 14 event and when details will be finalized.

Koch said right now the two are, "working out who's going to do what, or how it's going to be done."
