Bricks Pizza to Open Late November or Early December

Bricks Wood Fired Pizza & Café will open at 103 E. Front St. in downtown Wheaton at the end of November or in the first days of December, owner Bill Wilson said Wednesday.

Wilson, who originally planned for a September opening, said he appreciates everyone's patience as they prepare to open. He said after a few issues with the buildout, he hopes the last day of November will be the first day in business at Bricks.

The "Bricks" sign is now up at the store, and windows will be installed Friday, Wilson said.

Known for its wood fired brick oven pizzas ($9-$11), Bricks serves sandwiches baked in the wood fired oven, including a signature Chicken Pesto ($7), soups, salads, some appetizers and desserts.

Wilson said Bricks in Wheaton will differ from its original store in Lombard, with gelato and craft beer on the menu.

He said Wheaton is an ideal location for the restaurant because of its vibrant downtown.

"Wheaton always has been an interest for us only because of what goes on down there—there's a lot of activity. ... I think there's a need for it down there."
