After 26 Years Working at Dominick's, Male Employee Suspended for Wearing Earrings

Chicago Tribune talks to 26-year employee suspended for wearing earrings at work.

A 26-year employee at the Wheaton Dominick's was suspended early this month for wearing earrings to work, the Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.

Mark Edwards, 42, is an Aurora resident who started working for the chain when he was 16. He got his first ear piercing when he was 18 and has worn earrings at work ever since, he told the Tribune.

Edwards has been on an unpaid suspension for more than two weeks. His union, the United Food and Commercial Workers International, has been trying to get him back to work, as well as compensation for his lost time.
