Woodcarving Exhibition Held This Weekend in Wheaton

Cantigny Park and North Suburban Carvers invite the public to Artistry in Wood, a woodcarving exhibition and sale April 26 to 27 inside the Cantigny Visitors Center.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27.  The event is free with paid parking ($5 per vehicle).

Artistry in Wood will feature many of the Midwest’s finest woodcarvers representing a variety of techniques and styles.  Woodcarvings, turnings, wood burning art, hand-carved figurines and much more will be exhibited.  Many items will be available for purchase.

This is the 4th year for Artistry in Wood at Cantigny.  Visitors to the popular show enjoy live demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to interact with the artists.  Members of North Suburban Carvers love to discuss their craft!

In addition, the club invites all attending military veterans to enter a free raffle for a chance to win a one of several hand-crafted eagle-head presentation canes.

Established in 1979, North Suburban Carvers is based in Bensenville and has about 150 members.  More information is online at northsuburbancarvers.org.
