Wheaton Drama Selects Architecture, Engineering Firm to Recommend Improvements

Wheaton Drama, Inc. selected Wight & Company, an integrated architecture and engineering firm, to recommend improvements to the Playhouse 111 facilities.

Wheaton Drama, Inc. has commissioned Wight & Company, a leader in integrated architecture, engineering and construction solutions, to evaluate its Playhouse 111 theatre facilities and make recommendations for improvements.

Wheaton Drama is a volunteer organization that has been active in community theatre since 1931. Located at 111 N. Hale St. in downtown Wheaton, Playhouse 111 was expanded in 2004 to accommodate larger audiences and create more backstage space.

“Our productions are doing very well, and it’s time to consider remodeling or perhaps another expansion,” said Jim Van DeVelde, the president of Wheaton Drama. “We selected Wight as our design consultant because of its extensive knowledge and experience in theatre design and its ability to think outside the box.”
